Traditions - Quality of the Month

Each month, the school focuses on a special quality of character development. During the month in Chapel, in the classroom, and on campus, the faculty and the administration encourage growth in this particular quality by calling the children's attention to various aspects of that quality. Even though the Preschool children are not age-appropriate for participating in the Honor Guard selection, they are also encouraged to grow in the particular quality of the month. The emphasis on the quality is on individual growth. The qualities of the month are Friendship, Compassion, Thankfulness, Peacemaker, Courage, Perseverance, Responsibility, and Honesty. Each teacher designs class activities that will enable the children to reflect on the quality. The activity may be a small service project, a class discussion, a creative writing exercise, etc.
